All in all a good day of riding into eastern Texas. Four more days and it is hello cajun country. After a restful day in beautiful Austin the group has enjoyed the day on the road. A long day because of the winds but riding along a peaceful park road for 14 miles and scenic views of GREEN trees, grasses, and cattle makes it all worthwhile.
When riding the ST, the Winchester Depot is a must stop for water and snacks. Prices are great and Dana is a hoot.
The campground is beautiful and it is on the Colorado river of Texas. Can't swim in the river because of cottonmouth snakes. That is why we are adventure cyclists.
