April 30: Kentwood - 62 miles

Another fine day of riding across the state of Louisiana. We have been very fortunate with the great weather; low humidity, comfortable temperatures, partly cloudy to sunny days, and low traffic roads. There have been just enough small towns so that we can find the essentials during the day; food, water, and local color and conversation. A few more cyclists were seen today heading north, west, and east... all with panniers and all on their adventures. The terrain has changed since we crossed the mississippi. It is no longer flat as a pancake. It has become wooded with small rolling hills; very nice riding. Just enough momentum on the downhill to make it up the next uphill.

We are in Kentwood, LA the childhood home of everyone's favorite pop singer Brittany Spears.

Today was out last full day in louisiana as we will be sleeping iin mississippi tomorrow evening. It has been a long stretch of 9 ride days and the group is looking forward to 2 days off and a night in New Orleans before tackling the last 2 weeks of the trip.
