May 4, Vancleave,MS - 76 Miles

Another glorious day of great weather and skooth, lightly traveled roads. We could actually get use to this! Our overnight rain was just a misting and it began to clear before nightfall yesterday. We slept in 46 degree temps and began riding with jackets and leg warmers. Jackets and layers were removed within an hour after leaving camp as the temperatures rose to 77 quickly and stayed there all day. Add to that a light wind and you have yet another spectacular day on the Southern Tier. Tje terrain continues to roll slightly and the landscape is comprised of tall pine. A few spotted Pitcher plants and Dave saw a panther cross the road in front of him. A few others inadvertently decided to journey off route but called ahead to inform Dave and me that they were simply on an adventure.

We are camping in Vancleave tonight and the group enjoyed a great mexican meal at a local restaurant. Great campground at a great rate. As with most of our campgrounds the owners are proud of their facilities and the bathrooms/showers are very nice and clean.

Everyone enjoyed our last full day in Mississippi and we are all looking forward to Dauphin Island, AL tomorrow. ROLL TIDE!
